"Hope is the worst of all evils, for it prolongs the torments of men." (Nietzsche)
What is hope, fellow readers? Really...it's an honest question because, honestly, I don't know. Perhaps the crazy german dude who made the quote above is right. Perhaps hope is some sort of disease that some people have that in the end all that it does is making people suffer for days, months, years...in some cases their entire lifespan.
Hope numbs the spirit, takes you away from reality making you think that everything will be alright, that things will find their own way towards some sort of solution. Newsflash for you people with hope: it won't happen...period.
Things don't get solved for themselves, problems don't vanish out of the blue. Solutions sometimes show up simply because people work towards looking for them, even if, at times, they don't know they're actually doing that.
But, as we all know, the effort doesn't pay off all the time. Life is bloody unfair as we know and some people who really work hard towards a light in the end of the tunnel don't find it no matter how hard they look. Examples of such people? We know at least one, right? No need to mention the obvious.
Hope...such a weak illusion. So faint that it cannot cross Dante's hell gates, cannot survive in the heart of those who decide to face their despair of knowing that all of their efforts were useless and not knowing if their future ones will make any difference.
Hope...a sweet made-up world where everything is fair and that we all are going to get what we want even after a long struggle. This world has collapsed leaving only the hard, dark and cold real world ahead of me.

Beijo, B! Manda Caliban pro fundo do heeeellll!
Então vai um trecho da letra de "Living a Lie (The Embrace that smothers)" do "Epica":
Hope is a desert running dry
Deep inside
You refuse to face the facts
But pray for life
Find salvation in distress
We will wait
For the day you'll break out and Re-awake (Lies!)
Talvez Nietzsche estivesse certo. Talvez ele falasse praqueles que não fazem nada e esperam as saídas de seus problemas caírem do céu ou que alguém te entregue todas e ainda em ordem alfabética ou coisas do tipo...
Ah... sei lá, vou pensar melhor nisso...
beijo, B!!
Hard, dark and cold. Indeed the world is like that. Denying such facts is just lying to yourself. Yet this is all we have. It´s impossible to understand the world and humanity without having this kind of feeling. If you know how bad humanity is, in the end we are all hopeless.
In the end all we can do is just to give hell to anyone who fucks us.
Am I the only one who still believes? I'm not talking about living a day-dream world. I'm talking about having a reason to go one. Every one of us do believe in something, even if it's a bright day after the sacred darkness of night. We don't live counting that it's our last moments. Isn't it a kind of hope? Why do we build stuff? Why do we go on?
World is sick, man. People are totally mad. Parents kill their kids, the seed of future. In a world like this, it's hard to move on. Every effort might seem taking to nowhere. Doesn't it?
I think we need hope, but we also need to think, to think about our priorities, to think about what are we chasing for? A static dream is a prison. A life without dreams is empty. Even though I know incredible nice people that claim having no dreams, I still believe we are all chasing for something. If not, why to live?
Hope is devastating if we can't reach what we're seeking for, during a long long time. Sometimes we might want just to let it loose. To let it go. For the really little I know you, I'm sorry. You're a passionate person. Even if you try, it'll be like fighting your own nature. And believe me. Trying not to be who you are hurts as much or worse.
