Alcohol. One of the most popular drugs in our society. Some people will disagree with the hard term "drug" but come on. Some people can get addicted, it can kill you when you have too much, you can kill other people when you're shit-faced..so gimme a break right?
Oh well, back to the topic. I decided to pick this one today because after Carla suggested the subject I started to wonder and decided that it could actually work, and the fact that this thing is being written in english (if you don't speak it better try babelfish or cry your eyes out) is thanks to my friend (and blogger) Fernanda (aka Phê).
So anyway. Booze. It has some interesting (and funny) effects such as: instant beautifier, become some sort of "liquid courage", can make you a world-class ass and makes your friends make fun of you for the rest of your lives (that's the funny part..specially when you're not this person) but why people drink it?
Some drink it because of the social part for instance: "Look..I'm sociable..I drink with everybody...", of to look older: "look...I'm so grwn up..I'm drinking", some because of addiction: "God if I don't drink I'm gonna kill myself" and so on but some (like myself) drink for the sake of it, because we like the taste, because it can be refreshing and so on.
But the thing is: alcohol is demonized (and not at the same time) by our society because people do stupid things when they're drunk ignoring (or not) the obvious: drunken people act like a bunch of stupid-friggin-freaks because *drumroll* they are stupid-friggin-freaks!
That's pretty much all I have to say. I cannot write any longer since my creativity was drained by the journalism lab I just had.

I hate alcohol. Nothing else matters.
Heeeeeeeeeeey, don't blame me! You do realize that people are gonna call you a pretensious bastard for the rest of your college life, right?! And I'm gonna be called a pretensious bitch just because I'm writing this comment in English. Oh, yeah,and because YOU BLAMED ME!
Anyway, of course it's demonized, like any other type of drug. But, at the same time, it's incredibly popular and, in a way, ageless. People drink when they're 14, 40 or 114. I mean, coke is demonized! TV is demonized! A stupid microwave is demonized! What ISN'T demonized? Maybe Ghandi! But I bet Mohá would have some really bad shit to say about him.
Like I said, I personally hate booz. I hate the taste, I hate how it makes you feel and I hate the way people act under its influence. Some people get stupid just by being near the goddamn thing.
But some people don't get stupid. Some people get happier and friendlier, so I guess it has its upside, right?!
